First
Season Finals
303
Basketball finals day wrap-up
The
first season of 303 Basketball went out with a bang
on June 4, with the top four teams in each division
gathering at MSAC to battle it out for the championship.
Congratulations go out to A division champs 3hrillers,
and B division champs Mostly Harmless, both teams going
undefeated all the way through the regular season and
finals to rightfully claim their titles.
The finals were all run at MSAC on the same day, 303
taking over court 2 for three hours of 3 on 3 action.
The standard was high and the players were hard at the
ball and each other, especially in the preliminary finals
for each division which were each decided by just 2
points.
The award presentation took place right after the A
final, with trophies for the champions and runners up
in each division and MVP awards and KICKZ101 prize packs
given out to B div MVP The Wombats’ Rhain Buth
and A Div MVP The 3hrillers’ Steven Tabone.
Rhain richly deserved the Division B MVP, nailing crucial
shots and hustling for boards and steals all season
against bigger opponents, and Steven stood out in a
strong side where any of his teammates would have been
worthy winners as well.
Thanks to everyone for all your great support this season,
303 Basketball will be back bigger and better than ever
next season, which kicks off on September 24th at MSAC. Times
and schedules will be posted on the website as soon
as they are decided. Remember, if you refer a side that
joins up you don’t have to pay registration!

Back to MSAC
This Sunday (9th April) will be the last game at the
Kensington Rec Centre. It’s been great to launch
the league and watch it grow in our own private space,
but its time to bring 303 Basketball back to the home
of ball in Melbourne, the Melbourne Sports and Aquatic
Centre. We’ll be back at MSAC on April 30th, after
two weeks break for public holidays. |

Public
Holiday break
Just
reminding everyone that there will be no games on either
the 16th or 23rd of April due to the Easter and Anzac
Day public holidays. Enjoy the rest but keep the skills
sharp because we’ll be back at MSAC straight after
that. |

New
interim home for 303 found
Due to MSAC closing for
the Commonwealth Games in late February, 303 has been
searching high and low for a suitable home during the
Games. Finally we can announce that we have secured
an awesome facility- The Kensington Community Rec Centre.
Its a great court and will suit the league perfectly,
located only minutes from the city, a couple stops on
the train or tram, its well positioned for players requiring
public transport access.. Weekly games will be held
here following the free Grading Day until MSAC reopens
again in April. |

MSAC
the new home of 303 Basketball
We can now
confirm that the Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre
in Albert Park, the states finest indoor multi-court
complex, will be the new home of 303 Basketball from
the very begining of the season (February 2006). 303
is extremely delighted with the news that we will be
able to run the league from such a first-class facility
which is also ideally located. Having a central location
such as MSAC allows 303 access to ballers all over Melbourne,
it is well recognised, and shows that we do not have
a preference to any particular region of Melbourne.
We are all about making this league something which
will bring the finest ballers from all around Melbourne. |

303
and MSF Join Forces
303 Basketball
has been given a major boost just weeks after launch
with the news that the Major Streetball Foundation has
decided to come on board as a major supporter. MSF has
been the heart and soul of streetball in Melbourne for
years now and we’re very proud to have them involved
in the league. Their knowledge, experience and dedication
to streetball will be crucial in making the league the
best it can possibly be for you, the players. Check
